Winner of the 2001 Stirling Prize for their
design of the Magna Science Centre
in Rotherham, England, London's Wilkinson Eyre Architects
experimented earlier with rehabilitation and a similar program
in Explore @ Bristol,
which opened in July 2000. The architects converted (and added
to) a listed 1903 Hennebique concrete GWR Goods Shed into a hands-on
science center, the first of many such centers in England.
