The planetarium, at left, seemingly floating
in water, becomes the focus of the science center in the public
realm, occupying a portion of Millennium Plaza. Although extraneous
in regard to the rectilinear addition and existing building,
the planetarium helps to make a statement: that science must
reach out to the public for understanding, not be concealed in
laboratories and the like.
